Fantasy

Featuring dramatic cadenzas both at the beginning and in the middle of the work, Lauren Bernofsky's aptly-named Fantasy for Alto Saxophone and Piano is a 12-minute odyssey, at once lyrical and soaring through intricate passagework and exotic harmonies. Fantasy stays within the saxophone's natural top register, while projecting a tremendous spectrum of instrumental color.
